A major accident was reported on Highway 83 South near the Nueces River Bridge. It left two dead and happened on January 25, 2023 at approximately 4 a.m. According to Uvalde County Constable Emmanuel Zamora, the crash happened near the Zavala County Line and La Pryor Crossing. A car crashed on the bridge leaving two dead and others injured. AirEvac and Air Medical Ambulance were both on the scene and responded to the crash. This left the highway shut down for several hours. No identities have been released at this time. According to Texas DPS, the investigation is ongoing.
COMMENTARY
Authorities are still investigating so we have little detail as to what led to this crash. We do know that it happened in the early morning hours so it could have involved fatigue or poor visibility. We will update this story once more details become available.
